Certification Introduction
The Indonesian Directorate General of Resources SDPPI (DirektoratJenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos danInformatika) is the regulatory body that formulates, plans and implements standardization policies and policies in the field of radio and communication, and has the function of public services, which can issue licenses for radio spectrum, including regulation of radio frequency spectrum Interference and Disturbance, is an organization with wireless/communication testing and certification capabilities, including SDPPI certification for wireless products.
Wireless products exported to Indonesia must pass the Indonesian SDPPI type certification and customs inspection. Indonesia's General Directorate of Posts and Telecommunications (DGPT) has enforced since June 2009 to prohibit companies outside Indonesia from being type-approved licensees.

Exemption Statement
SDPPI certification special case
Products eligible for SDPPI exemption mainly include: GPS terminals, servers, network switching equipment, keyless systems, wireless charging equipment, etc.
The main information that needs to be provided to us to apply for an exemption letter are:
1. Application signed and stamped by the real importer or manufacturer;
2. Product manual;
3. Photos internal and external photos;
4. Label photos;
5. User Manual.
Waiver Letter Considerations
1. The holder of the exemption letter can be the importer, manufacturer or factory, etc., but it is recommended to apply for the relevant exemption letter in the name of the local Indonesian importer;
2. The waiver letter is valid for 1 year and needs to be re-applied after it expires;
3. It usually takes 1-2 weeks to apply for a waiver letter;
4. All the information can be reviewed, no need to submit samples.
Other Matters needing attention
From September 1, 2014, SDPPI certificate will no longer be divided into A certificate and B certificate.
1. There is no longer A certificate or B certificate;
2. Manufacturers or importers can directly apply for SDPPI certificate;
The validity period is three years, but the certificate validity period can only be renewed once (the validity period is increased by three years). After six years, the certificate needs to be extended, and only new applications can be made for products with WLAN and BT functions. Direct prototype testing must be provided. From November 14, 2014, all products with WLAN and BT functions must provide direct prototype testing. The policy of accepting normal prototypes for Bluetooth products has been cancelled.
