Brazil ANATEL certification

Certification Introduction

Brazil ANATEL certification is a certification for telecommunications products. All telecommunications products and accessories must obtain ANATEL certification before they can be legally commercialized and used in Brazil.

ANATEL certification is divided into mandatory and voluntary certification. The approval process is the same for products in Brazil and abroad. If a product is subject to mandatory certification, the test results and reporting of the product must be consistent with the rules and regulations adopted by ANATEL. Before the product is put into use, it needs to obtain the authorization certificate issued by ANATEL.

Basic information of ANATEL certification

· Compulsory certification;
· Local testing is required;

· Local representatives are required;
· Type I certificates are valid until cancelled, and the other two types of certificates are valid for two years;
· The processing lead time is 8-10 weeks.

Compulsory certification category

Three types of telecommunications equipment require mandatory certification:
Type I
Terminal equipment connected to the Fixed Switched Telephone Service (FSTS) network through endpoints; Equipment connecting private telecommunications networks to the FSTS network; connected device.

Including: mobile phone, satellite phone, VOIP phone, mobile phone battery, mobile phone charging line, phone signal line, modem.

 

Type II
· Any equipment that uses radios not covered by Type I, such as low voltage installations, unlicensed equipment and antennas.

Includes: TV and radio antennas, receivers, transmitters, wireless network equipment, RF automation equipment.

 

Type III
· Any equipment regulated by ANATEL's rules and regulations not covered by Type I or II.

Including fiber optic cables, cable connectors, mobile network signal transmitters.

 

Note: Certificate validity: 2 years for Type I, 2 years for Type II, 3 years for Type III.

application process

1. The customer submits the samples and materials to ITL;
2. The laboratory samples are tested, and the test report is issued after the test is completed.
3. The qualified certification agency reviews the test report and issues the ANATEL certification.

Certification Notice

1. ANATEL currently has no direct certification body in China, and all certification must be done in Brazil;
2. The applicant and holder of ANATEL certification must be a local Brazilian enterprise, which can be a subsidiary of the manufacturer in Brazil, importer, distributor or Authorized agent;
3. User manuals, installation guides and warning signs must be in Portuguese. Other documents can be in English;
4. The product must have an identification plate, including the following information: ANATEL logo certification number (bar code); manufacturer's name; year of manufacture; model; serial number; distributor's registration number.
5. According to the requirements of ANATEL, it is necessary to affix a special label on the battery. The label cannot be printed by the manufacturer, and must be purchased by the local Brazilian seller from the Brazilian official agency.
